- Uniting and gathering the youth to self improve the moral quality, studying – conducting science research, mission; training mental power, physical strength, sense, improving him self.
- Creating the favoured conditions for the youth to contribute to the community, volunteering, along with the university to fulfill education and training missions successfully to develop the country.
- Participating to develop the Vietnamese Party, being the political main core of the Student Association.

HPU Ho Chi Minh Youth Union was established on January 16th, 1998 under the Resolution N0 06/NQ-ĐTN by the HP City Youth Union

Mission
Since 1997, along with the development of the University, The Youth Union has improved the organization, scope and the strategy quality. Now there are 11 groups with 160 cells including over 7000 members, 12 professional clubs.
The Youth Union activities are acknowledged by the University, the City Youth union , students as one of the most successful organization based on the scope, content, quality and the efficiency. The HPU Youth Union is always awarded by the City Youth Union and the Vietnamese Youth Union.
With the Union, Determination, Knowledge and Creativity of all the university students, the HPU Youth Union has gained some achievements:
1. Politic training mission:
100% of students participate in studying the Party’s resolution and guideline, the government’s policy, country history, The Youth Union’s resolution and regulations at the first week, in the class about Vietnamese Party, through the media, contests, meetings. All the members of the HPU Youth Union always keep the politic fighting skill, good morality, loyalty to the Party and the Government and Uncle Ho
2. Study and Science research:
HPU Youth Union usually host activities to encourage the students to do science researches such as the annual Students’ Science Research Competitions, and Chinese club, English club or English Speaking contest, Robocon team, contest about science research…, meetings and study method discussion. Through those activities and clubs students have gained some high awards like in the Future businessman, Career start, ect.; especially the strategy : “ Real studying- strict exams- real working” which is applied each term.
3.Sport and Entertainment:
Being aware of the importance of sport and entertainment in the University training, creating the favored conditions for students to study well, do research and preventing themselves from social evils, The HPU Youth Union have organized professional and diversified activities such as : “the HPU best singer”, “ January Ball”, “ New year celebration”, “ Football Championship”, “ Swimming Championship”, “Badminton Championship”, “ The HPU Best Students”. Besides many clubs have been established such as Dancing Club, Aerobic Club, Hip-hop club, Badminton Club, etc.; attracting many students. Moreover, the students themselves have gained many wards in contests such as: HMC Ideology Contest, ASEM History, Music Contest, Dancing, Golden Bell
4. Volunteering
The HPU Volunteering has developed dramatically. The most significant feature is the creativity, knowledge, activeness and effectiveness. Some activities have been set up such as Volunteers with the community, helping the poor in hazards etc.; The program “ Tet for the poor”, “ The month for the poor”, Border program, The month for the kids. The HPU Green summer campaign is acknowledged as a creative and active ones. Besides, the campaigns to prevent social evils creating a clean student campus is remarked especially the “ 5 No”: no smoking, no garbage, no bad drawing, no water and electricity waste, and no common equipment damage. That’s the reason why student can enjoy a “clean” environment here.
5. The Youth Union and Vietnamese Party development
The HPU Youth Union successfully organizes to publish new member cards and rank the groups and cells efficiently. The training program with the detail duties is given annually to live up to the demand of the youth and common requirement. The operations are scheduled with various activities such as visiting places and learning the history, tradition and culture. Besides awards for the best members to encourage them, comments and supports are sent to the bad ones to avoid mistakes. The Youth Union leaders are also trained to improve themselves.
Being aware of the importance of developing the Vietnamese Communist party new members, the Youth Union actively introduce the Vietnamese Communist party by providing lessons to raise the Youth’s awareness, setting up the Students’ cell and developing The Vietnamese party Development Program among students.
The Student Association is established under the introduction of the HPU Youth union to create the favorable conditions to help it to develop well.
In the coming years, the HPU Youth Union tries to keep the leading position in the students’ activities contest among all the universities in Hai Phong with the main objectives: “ Loyalty, Knowledge, Creativity, a healthy soul and fit” to contribute to the University development.
